Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG)

CAS No.:

Molecular structure:

chlorhexidine gluconate

Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) is a invited by Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd as antibacterial agent. It is a kind of broad spectrum biguanidine disinfectant with low toxicity but high efficiency. CHG is useful for antibacterial and antiseptic to gram negative bacteria (50 mcg/ml) and gram positive bacteria (10 mcg/ml). It is widely used for skin disinfection, surgical disinfection, instrument disinfection, rinsing burns and other wounds, bladder irrigation, also can be used for oral anti-inflammatory, healing sores and surgery in the abdominal cavity and intestinal mucosa disinfection, etc. CHG can also be used for the disinfection of tableware, vegetables and drinking water in daily life.

As one of the most widely used disinfectants, CHG is more effective than other salt disinfectants. Clinically, Chlorhexidine Gluconate water solution is much more ordinary for various purposes of disinfection.

CHG is often used in formulations with other disinfectants, and the specific formulation and dosage are based on the acutal condition of equipment and experimental data. When used alone as a disinfectant, 2% water solution is recommended.

Packing and Storage:

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Temperature should be lower than 37℃. It should be stored separately from oxidizing agents and edible chemicals, never mix store with other material and keep the container sealed. Keep away from fire and heat source. The warehouse must be equipped with lightning protection devices. Exhaust system should be equipped with a grounding device to conduct static electricity. Adopt explosion-proof lighting and ventilation devices. Prohibit the use of equipment and tools which can easily form spark-prone. Storage areas should be equipped with spill response equipment and suitable storage materials
