HDTMP, Dequest®2054 Equivalent
Properties:
HDTMP is the abbreviation of hexamethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid. It is a white crystal powder at room temperature. HDTMP is slightly soluble in water, with less than 5% solubility.
Hexamethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid can inhibit most scale formations, such as calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, and ferric oxide. Therefore, as water treatment chemicals, HDTMP is used as scale inhibitors for calcium sulfate and barium sulfate, calcium sulfate in particular. This is because it has a large scale inhibition rate and can last for a long effective time.
HDTMP can be used for crush treatment in the oilfield and for water treatment in the boiler. It is the Dequest®2054 equivalent.
