Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) Polymer


Polyanionic cellulose (PAC) is a kind of nonionic cellulose ether. The PAC polymer featured the properties of high purity, high DS, particularly high viscosity (PAC-HV), or low viscosity (PAC-LV). These products are demi-natural polymer additives, thickening agents, and filtrate reducers.

Polyanionic cellulose is an indispensable product for drilling mud making. It is a high-purity product. The water solution of this PAC polymer powder is transparent and viscid.

As a water-soluble polymer, polyanionic cellulose dissolves immediately in cold/hot water. And it can be used as a thickening agent, rheology controller, bond, stabilizer, colloid protector, suspending agent, and filtrate reducer.

Polyanionic cellulose is a good drilling mud additive. It is also an important material for confecting well liquid, a high mud volume product with high acid and salt-resistance ability.

In addition, Polyanionic cellulose (PAC) is a good filtrate reducer that can increase viscosity and anti-high temperature (150℃) in freshwater, seawater, or saturated brine well-completion liquid. Therefore, this polymer is suitable for confecting the completion fluid with these three kinds of water above.

PAC-HV is for water-based drilling fluids. It can effectively reduce the filtration rate of many water-based oil and gas drilling fluids. And the high-viscosity PAC polymer may also increase and stabilize viscosity to improve hole cleaning and suspension properties in various fluid environments.

PAC-LV is used in solids-laden, water-based drilling fluids, which can effectively reduce the filtration rate of many water-based drilling fluids. The low-viscosity PAC polymer can not cause significant increases in viscosity or gel strength.

Polyanionic cellulose is a cost-effective additive to reduce the API filtration rate of many water-based drilling fluids. Such as freshwater, seawater, saturated saltwater, solids-free brines, native mud, flocculated mud, inhibited mud, and contaminated systems.

Polyanionic cellulose increases and stabilizes viscosity to improve rheology, wellhole cleaning, and suspension property by coating and encapsulating cuttings and solids of drilling fluids.

Polyanionic cellulose is effective over a wide range of pH environments. It lubricates solids in the system, improves wall cake characteristics, and reduces the potential for the stuck pipe.

Packing and Storage:

Packed in multiple paper bags or fiber drums (25KG), or as per customer requirement. Keep dry.
