Sodium pyrithione is also called 2-Mercaptopyridine N-oxide sodium salt. This biocide is transparent yellow liquid or off-white powder. It is easily soluble in water and organic solvent. Such as ethanol. Sodium pyrithione can restrain and sterilize eight kinds of mold, five kinds of bacteria as well as two kinds of yeast fungus which are distillery yeast and bakers’ yeast.

Uses:

Sodium pyrithione is mainly used for antisepsis and mold proofing in the fields of personal care products (shampoo and hair care products), building coating, adhesive, sealant, pesticide, textile, leatherware, metal processing liquid. This 2-Mercaptopyridine N-oxide sodium salt also can be used to formulate antiseptics, washing chemicals, and broad-spectrum dermatological antifungal medicines. Moreover, sodium pyrithione is an effective bactericide for fruit trees, peanuts, wheat, and vegetables and antiseptics for silkworm use.

Packing and Storage:

Packed in drums of 25kg or 250kg net each. The validity period is 24months. Keep in a dry and cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.

Toxicity:

Though sodium pyrithione is of hypotoxicity and high security, it still requires avoidance of contact with the mouth, eyes, and skin. While using it, protective measures should be prepared.
