Tween-65, Emulsifier T-65

Properties:

Tween-65 is a yellow-waxy solid. An oily liquid derived from PEG-ylated sorbitan (a derivative of sorbitol) esterified with fatty acids. It is soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, and mineral oil. HLB value is 10.5.

The Tween-65 emulsifier is also known as Polysorbate-65. Polysorbate 65, the full name polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan tristearate. Three stearic acids are in its molecule structure, while polysorbate-60 only has one.

Tween-65 is unnatural as it is made from the chemical synthesis of sorbitan fatty acid and ethylene oxide.

Uses:

Tween-65 is used as an emulsifier in medicine, food, textiles, and cosmetics. It is also used as a stabilizer and wetting agent etc.

Packing and Storage:

200kg wide-mouthed iron drum/100 kg wide-mouthed plastic drum. Handle with care. Stored in cool, dry, and draughty place. The shelf life is 2 years. Tween-65 can still be used if qualified after re-check.
