Glyoxylic acid is both an aldehyde and a carboxylic acid. It is supplied as an aqueous solution, it is a transparent light yellow liquid. It is mainly produced by either electrolyzing oxalic acid or oxidizing glyoxal.

Usage:
Glyoxylic Acid is the raw material for vanillin production in the flavor industry. It is also the intermediate for pharmaceuticals including atenolol, D-Hydroxybenzeneglycin, broad-spectrum antibiotic amoxicillin (orally taken), acetophenone, etc. As a specialty chemical and biodegradable copolymer feedstock, Glyoxylic Acid is also a cleaning agent for a variety of industrial applications. Besides, Glyoxylic is also used in dyes, plastics, and agricultural chemicals.
